Nasdaq Verafin Joins Global Anti-Scam Alliance

The Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) is pleased to announce that Nasdaq Verafin has joined GASA as a Foundation Member, strengthening the global effort to combat scams, financial crime, and digital fraud. As fraud tactics continue to evolve across borders and digital channels, cross-sector collaboration has become essential to protecting consumers and building safer financial ecosystems.

Nasdaq Verafin’s participation marks a meaningful step forward in the shared mission to advance trust, transparency, and resilience across the globe. In addition to joining the global effort, Nasdaq Verafin will join both the Brazil and Mexico chapters of GASA to partner with stakeholders across the financial ecosystem in Latin America, bolstering regional initiatives to combat financial crime.

“Criminals are innovating at an unprecedented rate, taking advantage of information siloes and the shortcomings of legacy technology to avoid detection. We are at an inflection point in the fight against financial crime, one that requires the entire ecosystem to come together, leveraging the power of collective intelligence to strengthen our defenses and better protect consumers around the globe. We look forward to partnering closely with the Global Anti-Scam Alliance to share innovative solutions, intelligence, and global expertise to the unique challenges financial institutions in Brazil and Mexico face,” said Mauriceo Castanheiro, Head of International Payments Fraud at Nasdaq Verafin.

Nasdaq Verafin is a global leader in financial crime management technology solutions, trusted by more than 2,700 financial institutions around the globe. The company’s innovative approach combines consortium data, AI, and machine learning to deter, detect, and prevent criminal activity. Nasdaq Verafin’s consortium approach uncovers hidden risks across the financial system, leveraging data and insights from across 800 million counterparties to improve fraud detection and prevention while reducing false positives.

“Having Nasdaq Verafin join the Global Anti-Scam Alliance as a Foundation Member is a milestone for our organization and for the global fight against scams. Their deep expertise in leveraging technology to more efficiently and effectively detect criminal activity brings a new level of insight and influence to our mission. With Nasdaq Verafin’s partnership, and their representatives joining the boards of our Brazil and Mexico Chapters, we are strengthening our ability to connect global knowledge with local action. Together, we can help shape stronger policies, accelerate industry collaboration, and build the foundations of a scam free future.” said Jorij Abraham, Managing Director of GASA.

“The addition of Nasdaq Verafin as a Foundation Member is not only a milestone for the Brazil Chapter, it is a strong endorsement of the relevance of our market and the seriousness of the work we have been building from day one. We are starting our journey already alongside a globally recognized institution known for excellence, innovation, and a deep commitment to integrity. This partnership strengthens our ability to translate global expertise into local impact and accelerates our mission to raise the standard of collaboration in the fight against scams and financial crime in Brazil.” said Renata Salvini, Chapter Director for Brazil.

“With 76 percent of Mexican adults victimized by scams and 139 billion pesos lost annually, according to the 2025 State of Scams in Mexico Report, 2026 will be devastating. AI democratized productivity but industrialized fraud, this isn’t a prediction, it’s a countdown. Combating this epidemic requires integrated defenses where early detection triggers coordinated action across digital platforms, telecommunications, finance, and authorities. Nasdaq Verafin’s addition to GASA Mexico bridges the gap between technology and coordination. Without systemic collaboration, our economic system remains vulnerable. This strengthens our multistakeholder commitment to essential stability”, added Sissi de la Peña, Chapter Director for Mexico.

Through this partnership, Nasdaq Verafin executives will join the Chapter Advisory Boards of GASA Mexico and Brazil. As a Foundation Member, Nasdaq Verafin will collaborate with GASA and its members, bringing insights from more than two decades of stopping financial crime to develop innovative new strategies that protect consumers from fraud and scams.

His appointment underscores Cyara’s commitment to accelerating enterprise AI CX innovation and elevating customer experience by enabling more reliable, responsive, and trustworthy interactions across every channel. Sushil will build on the strong foundation laid by outgoing CEO Rishi Rana.

Sushil brings entrepreneurial vision and enterprise-scale leadership to Cyara. He has focused his career on building category-defining AI, DevOps, and cloud platforms, both as a founder and as a leader of large global organizations. Most recently, he was Co-Founder and CEO of RelicX.ai, a generative AI test automation pioneer acquired by Harness. Before that, he held senior product and general management roles at Oracle, CA Technologies, and Broadcom, leading global teams and multi-hundred-million-dollar businesses that improved digital performance and customer experience at scale.

“Sushil brings a rare combination of proven ability, and deep customer and product insight to building and scaling category-defining platforms,” said Alok Kulkarni, Co-Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cyara. “Cyara created and now leads the CX assurance category, with strong and growing global momentum. Under Sushil’s leadership, we see a significant opportunity to extend that lead as enterprises race to modernize customer experience, deploy GenAI safely, and ensure that every customer interaction simply works.”

Cyara’s unified, AI-powered platform continuously tests, validates, and monitors customer journeys across voice, digital, messaging, and conversational AI. Assuring more than 350 million customer journeys each year, and validating over a million AI-generated responses, the platform gives enterprises full visibility into quality, reliability, and risk. With emerging Agentic AI capabilities, Cyara is expanding into intelligent, continuous CX optimization to help organizations improve workflows, reduce cost-to-serve, and deploy new experiences with confidence.

“AI is transforming customer experience faster than any technology shift we’ve seen in decades,” said Sushil Kumar, CEO, Cyara. “As enterprises rethink their CX stacks and explore agentic AI, what they need most is confidence. Confidence that every interaction will be accurate, trustworthy, and delivered at the speed and quality customers expect. Cyara already plays a pivotal role in enabling that shift. It provides the reliability and assurance organizations need to turn AI from experimentation into meaningful, real-world impact. I’m excited to build on this foundation and work with the team to raise the bar for customer experience globally.”

Cyara has pursued a focused mergers and acquisitions strategy; acquiring Botium and QBox (bot and conversational AI testing), Spearline/testRTC (telecom and WebRTC assurance) and CentraCX (voice of the customer), to build one of the industry’s most comprehensive CX assurance stacks.

TruMerit and EnGen Partner to Equip Foreign-Educated Health Professionals With English Skills for Success in Work and Life

TruMerit, a leader in global healthcare workforce development, is partnering with EnGen, a workforce-aligned English language learning solution, to support foreign-educated nurses and other healthcare professionals in building the language skills to succeed in English-speaking work environments and to flourish in their new communities.

This new collaboration enables current and past applicants for TruMerit’s credential evaluation services to purchase individual access to EnGen’s platform and state-of-the-art tools for building English skills. Through targeted, job-specific English training, learners will boost their confidence, enhance their job performance, and prepare for in-demand roles in healthcare systems facing critical staffing shortages.

EnGen’s innovative approach blends on-demand, AI-powered instruction with human-mediated support, including live online group workshops and coaching. The solution equips working adults with the English skills needed for specific jobs and career paths, including healthcare roles. Stronger English skills not only help them prepare for required language proficiency tests and licensure exams, but also to grow in their careers and thrive in workplace and community life in their new country.

With thousands of foreign-educated nurses and allied professionals arriving in the U.S. each year to help fill staffing shortages in health systems, strong communication skills are a vital asset, enabling better collaboration, patient care, and overall outcomes. In addition to verification of their education and licensing in their home countries-services that TruMerit already provides-U.S. immigration law requires proof of English language proficiency to ensure clear communication across the healthcare teams and protect patient safety.

“Under TruMerit’s expanded focus on healthcare career development, we are determined to help migrating nurses and other health professionals thrive at every stage of their careers. In the U.S., this means having the opportunity to take their understanding of the language from proficiency to mastery,” said Dr. Peter Preziosi, President and CEO of TruMerit.

“We are delighted to be able to work with EnGen to address this challenge by making career-aligned English instruction available through the personalized, mobile-first learning experiences the company offers,” he said.

“By equipping foreign-educated healthcare workers with job-specific English skills, we’re empowering them to communicate confidently with patients, deliver high-quality care, and succeed in high-stakes environments-while also thriving off the clock in their communities,” said Dr. Katie Brown, EnGen’s Founder and Chief Education Officer. “EnGen’s approach drives real-world results: 94% of our learners feel more confident using English at work, 93% save time on the job, and 92% have improved their job skills. Another 80% said they can navigate life better. We’re proud to partner with TruMerit to help build a stronger, future-ready healthcare workforce.”

In addition to the healthcare-focused English instruction, EnGen also offers content aimed at helping learners navigate their new life in an English-speaking country, covering topics like social integration, legal, financial, and digital literacy, as well as U.S. citizenship test preparation.

Additionally, to help accompanying spouses and other family members adjust, the offers available through TruMerit include special pricing on a family option, under which courses offered by EnGen can be accessed by family members aged 14 and above.

About TruMerit

TruMerit is a worldwide leader in healthcare workforce development. Formerly known as CGFNS International, the organization has a nearly 50-year history supporting the career mobility of nurses and other healthcare workers-and those who license and hire them-by validating their education, skills, and experience as they seek authorization to practice in the United States and other countries. As TruMerit, this mission has been expanded to building workforce capacity that meets the needs of people in a rapidly evolving global health landscape. Through its Global Health Workforce Development Institute, the organization is advancing evidence-based research, thought leadership, and advocacy in support of healthcare workforce development solutions, including globally recognized practice standards and certifications that will enhance career pathways for healthcare workers.

About EnGen
EnGen offers an at-scale, AI-powered approach to English instruction, designed to solve a systemic access issue: Adult English learners now represent 1 in 10 working-age adults in the U.S., yet the workforce system serves the needs of just 2% of these workers. A Certified B Corporation, EnGen is filling the gap by partnering with employers, adult educators, workforce development organizations, and state governments to connect job seekers and incumbent workers with English skills, career pathways, and employment in high-demand industries. EnGen’s workforce-aligned approach addresses employers’ recruitment and retention challenges and advances learners’ economic mobility. Learn more at getengen.com.

TruMerit Adds Two More Global Credentials for Rehabilitation Care Workers

TruMerit, a global leader in healthcare workforce development, today launched two new global credentials for healthcare workers specializing in rehabilitation, habilitation, and restorative care.

The Certified Global Health Worker-Rehabilitation (CGHW-R) and the Certified Global Health Worker-Rehabilitation Advanced (CGHW-RA) have been developed specifically for eligible health workers worldwide who wish to have their applied experience and competencies in rehab care recognized and verified by passing a certification examination. These credentials, along with the Certified Global Nurse-Rehabilitation (CGN-R) that TruMerit established last year, are intended to advance and improve services for the more than two billion people worldwide who need this care.

The CGHW-RA credential was developed for those with a degree or diploma in a rehabilitation field. These include clinicians, educators, and instructors with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, or other rehab-related specializations.

The CGHW-R credential was designed for those who have rehab health experience but have not completed post-secondary education in an area of rehab specialization. These would include technicians, assistive personnel, nursing assistants, and home or community health aides working in rehabilitation, habilitation, and restorative care settings.

In addition to education and degree requirements, candidates for these credentials must have at least two years of work experience in a rehabilitation, habilitation, or restorative care setting during the last five years. Upon verification of their credentials by TruMerit, they must pass a proctored exam that is offered at more than 1,000 test centers worldwide.

In 2019, CARF International, a non-profit organization that accredits rehabilitation care providers worldwide, alerted TruMerit (known then as CGFNS International) about the growing demand for validating practice competence of the rehabilitation health workforce and raising standards across the care continuum. TruMerit and rehabilitation experts from across the world began the process to create exam-based global certifications for healthcare professionals working in rehabilitation, habilitation, and restorative care settings. The process has included more than 200 subject matter experts from 45 countries from all world regions and income levels.

“Caring for the huge and growing population of persons living with a disability is one of the most pressing issues facing healthcare today. By validating the knowledge and skills of those who devote their careers to providing this care, global credentials will help drive efforts to expand and equip this vital workforce to meet the challenges of the future. We are grateful to the global team of rehab care experts who helped make these credentials possible,” said Julia To Dutka, Chief of TruMerit’s Global Health Workforce Development Institute, which is leading the initiative.

Additionally, last month TruMerit unveiled its Certified Global Nurse (CGN) credential for first-level, general nurses (RNs), along with a reinvented Nurse Qualifying Exam.

Among Migrating Nurses, Survey Shows High Satisfaction Rates for Those Who Use a Certified Ethical Recruiter

In a new survey, foreign-educated nurses and other healthcare professionals who migrate to work in the United States continue to give high marks to recruitment firms that are certified by the Alliance for Ethical International Recruitment Practices.

TruMerit Ethical International Recruitment Report

TruMerit Ethical International Recruitment Report
How certification helps safeguard the rights of foreign-educated health professionals.

The Alliance, a division of TruMerit (formerly CGFNS International), in 2024 surveyed more than 8,000 foreign-educated health professionals who had used one of its 19 Certified Ethical Recruiters (CERs). Ninety percent of respondents indicated they had an overall positive experience with their recruiter, with 55% reporting it was very positive.

As the survey report shows, the high satisfaction rate essentially held steady from 2023 despite persisting delays and increased costs in the U.S. immigration process.

In an earlier TruMerit/CGFNS survey of its applicants who used non-certified recruiters, only 69 percent reported a positive or very positive experience.

“As U.S. healthcare systems continue to look to foreign-educated nurses and other health professionals to help resolve chronic staffing shortages, it is essential that we work to protect those who have made the life-altering decision to migrate. This overall rate of positive experience remains a testament to the work of the Alliance’s Certified Ethical Recruiters in their adherence to ethical practices and transparent policies,” said Rodrigo Gouveia, TruMerit’s Chief Global Affairs Officer.

The Alliance was created nearly two decades ago in response to concerns some recruiters were using unfair and deceptive practices such as charging unreasonable fees to the recruits, withholding passports and other documents, and pressuring recruits to sign unfair and complex contracts without giving them an opportunity to read and understand them. On such issues, survey respondents had the following responses about their recruitment experiences:

  • 82% agreed (68% strongly) that their CER regularly communicated with them and addressed their concerns.
  • More than 97% said they received a copy of their contract and suitable time to review it before signing, with 92% reporting that they were not pressured to sign.
  • 95% said their recruiter did not withhold their passports or any other critical documents.
  • 91% said they knew what their pay rate would be prior to arriving in the U.S., but a lower proportion (72%) said they knew the location of their new job in advance of emigrating.

TruMerit/CGFNS had previously found that four out of five (79%) nurses who recently immigrated to the U.S. used a recruitment firm, either to place them directly with an employer or, under a staffing model, fund their migration costs in return for their commitment to work for the recruitment firm itself, which then assigns them to work at their client healthcare facilities.

To be designated a Certified Ethical Recruiter, firms must undergo a rigorous evaluation of policies and practices and agree to Alliance oversight that they remain in compliance with its Health Care Code for Ethical International Recruitment and Employment Practices, which outlines specific best practices for ensuring fair, ethical, and transparent treatment of health professionals migrating to the U.S.

The Alliance Code is aligned with the World Health Organization’s Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel. In its recent State of the World’s Nursing Report, the WHO called for reinforcing adherence to its Code and for ethically managing international mobility and migration as key policy priorities for strengthening global nursing workforce development.

“The results of this survey indicate the potential for recruiter certification to advance WHO’s goals and in serving as a model for both source and destination countries of migrating health professionals,” said Gouveia.

More information on the Alliance and the Certified Ethical Recruiter program can be found at cgfnsalliance.org.

CoNGO | TruMerit
Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations, also known as CoNGO and TruMerit

CoNGO is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1948 that relates to the United Nations through its General Consultative Status granted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It has 525 member organizations from around the world and 106 associate members.

Dr. Preziosi was elected to serve for the 2025-29 term this week at the 28th CoNGO General Assembly, which took place in New York with the virtual participation of organizations from around the world. He succeeds the Rev. Dr. Liberato C. Bautista, the main representative to the UN for the General Board of Church and Society of The United Methodist Church, who has served as CoNGO’s President since 2017 and also held the post from 2007 to 2011.

TruMerit has been a member of CoNGO since 2018 and is active in the organization’s affairs, having served as the organization’s Secretary to the CoNGO Board and as chair of its Membership Committee.

Dr. Preziosi is the first Registered Nurse to serve as CoNGO President. He is a nonprofit executive who since early 2023 has led TruMerit, formerly known as CGFNS International, a health workforce development organization committed to advancing the ethical mobility and professional growth of health workers worldwide. Previously, he was employed by the World Health Organization to help establish its technology-driven global learning center, the WHO Academy.

Dr. Bautista, the former President of CoNGO, extended his warm congratulations to Dr. Preziosi on his election. “His experience at TruMerit and at WHO, coupled with his profound dedication to multilateralism and his engagement with civil society, provide a basis for optimism regarding CoNGO’s future. In an era where the voice and influence of civil society are of paramount importance in shaping a shared future that upholds human dignity and rights, as well as planetary sustainability, Dr. Preziosi’s leadership is expected to enhance CoNGO’s role as a pivotal supporter and advocate for democratic and equitable participation within the United Nations and beyond,” he stated.

“CoNGO has long been a vital convener of NGOs, a bridge between civil society and an advocate for their engagement at the United Nations, as well as a steadfast champion of inclusive multilateralism – a concept that, unfortunately, is increasingly under attack,” said Preziosi.

“In response, let us assert civil society participation at the United Nations not as a plea, but as a principle – one that is essential to legitimate, effective, and ethical multilateralism, and thereby is critical to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals and adherence to the rule of law,” he said.

GPTW Certified

GPTW Certified
GEON is Great Place to Work-Certified in the US, Canada, Mexico and China.

GPTW asks employees to quantify and benchmark their experience, workplace culture and leadership behaviors which are proven to deliver market-leading revenue, employee retention and increased innovation.

“We are thrilled to receive Great Place To Work recognition in all four countries in which we operate for two consecutive years. Great Place To Work companies are evaluated against top employers globally, so this is a testament that our journey to cultural excellence is on the right track,” said GEON Chief Executive Officer Tracy Garrison. “We believe leaders in the marketplace must also be leaders in the workplace. To do this, we nurture a positive work culture everywhere we operate while striving to grow in areas that still need improvement.”

GEON received a 79 percent engagement rating which exceeds the typical company by over 20 percent. GEON’s score improved year-over-year in the U.S., Canada and China and held steady in Mexico. The U.S. survey included the full scope of GEON employees, including employees from Foster, LLC which GEON acquired in January of 2025.

According to Great Place To Work research, job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a Certified™ great workplace. Additionally, employees at Certified workplaces are 93 percent more likely to look forward to coming to work and are twice as likely to be paid fairly and have a fair chance at promotion.

“Like the data show, achieving GPTW certification is not only a reflection of our culture, but it directly impacts our ability to retain good people who are excited to come to work each day,” said GEON Chief Human Resources Officer Jerome Beguerie. “This has a direct impact on our customers and their experience with us.”

SAPPE’s Female CEO Takes the World Stage at the Global Summit of Women 2025 in Berlin, Germany

Bringing forward a bold vision for Thai businesses to engage with global socio-cultural issues

Sappe PCL (SAPPE) once again reinforced its image as a globally recognized Thai enterprise as its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Piyajit Ruckariyapong, was invited to speak at the Global Summit of Women 2025, one of the world’s most influential international gatherings of women leaders. The 35th edition of the summit was held in Berlin, Germany from July 3–5, 2025 under the theme “Women: Restoring Values in the Digital Age” and brought together over 1,000 participants from more than 60 countries.

Ms. Ruckariyapong joined the Summit as a panelist under the theme “Should Companies Take a Position on Socio-Cultural Issues?”, alongside top executives from global corporations such as Commerzbank (Germany), Dow Europe (Switzerland), and McCann Worldgroup Europe (Spain). Moderated by Ms. Irene Natividad, President of the Global Summit of Women, the session highlighted the role of modern women as not just innovators but leaders in restoring values and ethics to business and society in the digital era.

During the panel, Ms. Ruckariyapong shared SAPPE’s inspiring journey from its humble beginnings as a small food business founded by a second-generation Thai-Chinese family to becoming a global innovator in the beverage industry, exporting to over 100 countries. The only daughter among three brothers, she began her career in finance at global institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, and BNP Paribas. She was later called back to SAPPE during a pivotal moment as the company prepared to go public, where she played a key role as CFO. When her elder brother stepped down, she was appointed CEO and has since driven the company’s international expansion.

On stage, she affirmed that SAPPE believes in being a company that “takes a stand for what it believes in” not just in marketing strategies, but in giving voice to important social and cultural issues. She emphasized the company’s three core values embedded in its DNA: innovation, women empowerment, and diversity and inclusion. SAPPE was the pioneer of the “Snack Drink” category, with its globally successful Mogu Mogu, a fruit juice drink with chewy nata de coco that transformed the global beverage landscape. In addition, SAPPE developed Sappe Beauti Drink, a functional beverage line that reflects its commitment to women’s well-being and self-care. Last year, SAPPE launched the powerful “Self-Love” campaign, encouraging women to embrace their inner beauty and become agents of social change.

SAPPE also strongly upholds the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Women make up 53% of the company’s workforce and 60% of its senior management an outcome that reflects its values in action. Speaking on leadership and internal culture, Ms. Ruckariyapong highlighted SAPPE’s flat organizational structure that enables inclusive decision-making, two-way communication, and a workplace culture built on mutual respect. Communication with stakeholders occurs through multiple channels, such as quarterly meetings with shareholders, social listening platforms for consumer feedback, and open-door policies allow employees at all levels to directly engage with senior management.

“My door is always open. I respectfully encourage everyone to speak up. That’s how we align the organization to move forward as one,” she shared.

As the leader of a global company, she also emphasized the importance of respecting cultural diversity and avoiding one-size-fits-all strategies across countries. She believes that CEOs must “Walk The Talk,” upholding transparency, honesty, and accountability in every action not only to shareholders and consumers, but also to society.

In terms of engaging the new generation, she noted that 20% of SAPPE’s workforce is Gen Z, and that this demographic values purpose deeply. “They want to know what they’re doing, why it matters, and what impact it creates. That’s why we ensure that our mission, values, and goals are communicated clearly. We also support mental well-being, set clear performance benchmarks, and build a culture of belonging,” she explained. This approach helps SAPPE remain agile and innovative in an ever-evolving world.

Her participation in the Global Summit of Women reflects not only SAPPE’s growing international presence but also a broader message that Thai companies can be a force for good on the global stage. With creativity, vision, and a commitment to meaningful values, businesses can lead cultural sustainability not just through numbers, but through the courage to drive positive change.
