GMG Announces Internal G(R) Lubricant Testing Results Showing 10% Fuel Savings and 33% Reduction in Particulate Emissions

Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd. (TSXV: GMG) (OTCQX: GMGMF) (“GMG” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the following internal GMG run engine test results when G® Lubricant was added to a Caterpillar 22 kVA diesel engine run at an 80% Load. Test results show a 10% increase in energy efficiency (kwh/litres), and also a 33% reduction in harmful diesel engine exhaust particulate matter emissions, when three doses of G® Lubricant, with a maximum graphene dosage of 0.03%, was added to the standard diesel engine oil.

It is noted that the test engine was not operating optimally before G® Lubricant was added – the engine was overheating at long runs of sustained high loads. As a result, after the initial dose of G® Lubricant was added, an additional two dosages of G® Lubricant were used to hopefully bring the engine into a more stable operating regime, an outcome that was generally achieved.

Detailed Equipment and Process for Testing G® Lubricant

The following describes the equipment used and the process followed by the Company in demonstrating the fuel saving demonstration of the G® Lubricant in the diesel engine generator:

  • The same testing equipment, data systems and processes were used which was verified by the University of Queensland and detailed in GMG’s previous press release on the 25th February, https://graphenemg.com/gmg-unveils-g-lubricant-engine-performance-testing-results-a-transformative-graphene-energy-saving-solution-for-the-multi-trillion-dollar-global-liquid-fuel-industry/
  • GMG also added the following testing equipment to the testing program:
    • Testo 340 Diesel Kit 2 engine emissions test kit which was newly calibrated by the third-party supplier.
    • PDSA DPM-RT-2 particulate matter test unit which was newly calibrated by the third-party supplier.
  • A 22kVA Caterpillar diesel engine generator (with 1,959 hours of run time) was setup in the GMG Richlands warehouse.
  • The generator was connected to a 40-kW power load bank which consumed the energy produced by the generator and created the load and a 500-litre self-contained fuel tank.
  • Two calibrated flow sensors were connected (inflow and return/outflow) to the fuel lines and to a data logger which recorded the fuel consumption.
  • An Energy Analyzer was used to log and track energy produced by the generator.
  • Tests were conducted on 80% loads of the engine from the 40-kW power load bank – 22 kW.
  • A baseline to record diesel fuel consumption under normal engine oil and operating conditions was completed with newly changed recommended premium diesel engine oil and a new oil filter. This oil change was carried out by a professional engine maintenance service company.
  • The engine was run at 80% load and the baseline and G® Lubricant data set used for the analytics is when the maximum ambient temperature for the day was less than 33 degrees Celsius and relative humidity was between 50% and 80% with no rain. Fuel consumption for diesel engines changes when operating in rain or very high humidity or temperatures, so the fuel consumption data baseline and G® Lubricant engine oil additive performance testing were excluded for these times.
  • Only steady state data was used and so any variance or anomalous data seen in either baseline or G® Lubricant datasets were removed from the analytics. Data sets were grouped into minute blocks.
  • Once the baseline fuel tests were completed, G® Lubricant with approximately 1:100 concentration was mixed at approximately 1% ratio by weight into the existing engine oil. This was done another 2 times. The end ratio of GMG’s Graphene to the diesel engine oil was approximately 3:10,000 by weight.

GMG’s Managing Director and CEO, Craig Nicol, commented: “G® Lubricant is not only increasing fuel efficiency it is also reducing particulate matter – which is amazing to see – we will need to do more tests to see what the long-term performance is for this.”

GMG is continuing to conduct more tests to determine the total performance regime of the G® Lubricant. These performance tests will be announced as the information becomes available.

GMG’s Chairman and Director, Jack Perkowski, commented: “Fantastic news – G® Lubricant testing data are exciting – well done to the team – showing great promise as a way to reduce fuel costs and emissions across the multi-trillion dollar liquid fuels industry.”

Core Business Performance

The container manufacturing business achieved outstanding performance once again, with the production and delivery volume of standard containers reaching a historic high. During the Reporting Period, global demand for goods trade picked up, and according to the report issued in February 2025 by CLARKSONS (a global authoritative industry analyst), global container trade volume increased by 5.9% year-on-year to 213 million TEUs in 2024; at the same time, the detour of European routes brought about by the Red Sea Incident and the port congestion caused by the strike of terminal workers resulted in lowered efficiency of container transportation, and increased container demand. Resultantly, during the Reporting Period, the production and sales volume of the Group’s container manufacturing business hit a record high. In particular, the accumulated sales volume of dry containers reached 3,433,600 TEUs (same period in 2023: 664,100 TEUs), representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 417.03%. The accumulated sales volume of reefer containers reached 138,600 TEUs (same period in 2023: 92,500 TEUs), representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 49.84%. In 2024, the container manufacturing business of the Group recorded a revenue of RMB 62.205 billion (same period in 2023: RMB 30.213 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 105.89%, and a net profit of RMB 4.088 billion (same period in 2023: RMB1.794 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 127.84%.

In the logistics services business, during the Reporting Period, global merchandise trade showed a rebound in growth, driving strong cargo demand in the international container transportation market. Meanwhile, the substantial rebound in the freight rates of container transportation contributed to the growth in demand in the air and land transportation markets. In 2024, the Group’s logistics services business continued to strengthen its direct customer acquisition capabilities. The business volume of its key core products saw growth ranging from 2% to 49%, achieving operating revenue of RMB 31.389 billion (same period in 2023: RMB 20.166 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 55.65%, and a net profit of RMB 437 million (same period in 2023: RMB 187 million), representing a year-on-year increase of 133.27%. The yard business volume reached a new record high, with over 7.5 million TEUs of empty containers in and out of the yards for the whole year. During the Reporting Period, CIMC Wetrans ranked third among Chinese enterprises on the list of the 2024 Top 50 Ocean Freight Forwarders issued by Transport Topic, an authoritative magazine in the global logistics industry.

In the road transport vehicle business, CIMC Vehicles deepened its implementation of the “Star-Chained Plan”, achieving new-quality leadership. In 2024, despite a sluggish global commercial vehicle logistics market, the “Star-Chained Plan” enabled CIMC Vehicles to consolidate domestic semi-trailer factory resources and leverage superior product competitiveness to overcome challenges. This drove counter-cyclical growth in domestic vehicle sales and solidified its overseas market advantages. CIMC Vehicles increased its semi-trailer sales in the domestic market by 12.02% year-on-year, securing the nation’s top market share for the sixth consecutive year. Revenue grew against market headwinds, supported by strategic adjustments. The Company also aligned with new energy trends by launching its first pure electric tractors and trailers product. For 2024, CIMC Vehicles reported a revenue of RMB 20.998 billion (same period in 2023: RMB 25.087 billion), down 16.30% year-on-year, and net profit of RMB 1.081 billion (same period last year: RMB 2.448 billion), down 55.83% year-on-year. The decline primarily reflects the normalization of North American business from previously elevated levels. Additionally, in 2023, CIMC Vehicles generated a non-recurring gain of approximately RMB 848 million from the disposal of its equity in Shenzhen Special Vehicle.

In the Energy Field

In the offshore engineering business, the Group achieved its first profit turnaround. In 2024, the global shipping and offshore engineering market environment continued to improve, and international oil prices were at a relatively high level, which still had a promoting effect on the oil and gas production platforms. The continuous growth in marine operation activities drove the utilisation ratio and the rental for offshore engineering equipment to be on the rise, while the offshore engineering equipment market continued to recover. During the Reporting Period, CIMC Raffles secured new offshore engineering orders totaling US$ 3.250 billion (same period in 2023: US$ 1.680 billion), including the maintenance and reconstruction of one FLNG, two turnkey projects for FPSO hull construction, three ro-ro ships, and orders for other clean energy projects. As of the end of 2024, the accumulated value of orders on hand increased by 27% to US$ 6.920 billion (same period in 2023: US$ 5.470 billion), of which the proportion of the oil and gas business, wind power installation vessels and ro-ro ships was approximately 3:1:1. The manufacturing of these orders has been booked up to 2027. During the Reporting Period, the offshore engineering business of the Group recorded a revenue of RMB 16.556 billion (same period in 2023: RMB 10.452 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 58.41%, and a net gain of RMB 224 million (same period in 2023: net loss of RMB 31 million).

In the offshore engineering asset operation, the slow recovery of the global macro-economy and the volatility of crude oil prices continued to affect the global offshore drilling market. With intensifying market competition, both utilisation rate and rates of offshore drilling faced pressure market in the second half of the year, while oil companies re-examined new energy transformation, adjusted development strategies, slowed down the pace of transformation, and re-focused on oil and gas production. During the Reporting Period, the offshore engineering asset operation and management business of CIMC continued to leverage on its existing project experience and business capabilities, further consolidated its cooperative relationship with customers at home and abroad, and capitalised on its excellent offshore engineering platform operation and management capabilities to improve asset rental rates, successfully signing new lease contracts for 2 platforms. In 2024, the offshore engineering asset pool platform actively capitalized on asset revitalization opportunities, achieving a year-on-year increase in leasing and operational income and a notable reduction in losses.

In the energy, chemical, and liquid food equipment business, the Group has overcome cyclical misalignment and fluctuations, supporting the global demand for energy transition. The revenue growth and orders for clean energy have been remarkable, and the Group has continued to enhance its overseas business presence and upstream capabilities in hydrogen energy. In particular, the global shipping industry is accelerating its green transformation, and the cumulative new orders for CIMC Enric’s marine clean energy business exceeded RMB 10 billion, reaching a new high; the sales revenue of LNG vehicle cylinders reached RMB 1.140 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 31%, reaching a historical high. In the chemical sector, the Group has maintained the number one global market share in tank containers for several consecutive years. In the liquid food segment, the Group seized growth opportunities in the domestic spirits market, achieving a year-on-year increase in revenue. Overall, this business achieved a revenue of RMB 25.579 billion (same period in 2023: RMB 25.026 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 2.21%, and net profits of RMB 732 million (same period in 2023: RMB 854 million), representing a year-on-year decrease of 14.31%.

Future Development and Prospects

The Group’s management stated, “Looking ahead to 2025, the Group will continue to deepen the implementation of its Five-Year Strategic Plan and the strategic theme of “accelerating the construction of new growth drivers and focusing on promoting high-quality development” and coordinate the reasonable growth of “quantity” and the effective improvement of “quality”, to ‘become a high-quality and respected world-class enterprise’.

In terms of driving new growth momentum, CIMC Group will seize significant opportunities in green development and new quality production, actively expanding our strategic emerging business layout in areas such as clean energy and smart logistics. Balancing globalization, we will explore development opportunities in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and focus on upgrading core products and achieving breakthroughs in key technologies, advancing toward higher-value segments of the industrial chain. For high-quality development, we will prioritize improving quality and efficiency to achieve stable and sustainable returns on resource investments. Additionally, we will strengthen technological innovation and digitalization to further enhance product competitiveness while fostering strategic partnerships and industrial collaboration to establish high-quality development relationships.

The year 2025 marks a critical milestone for CIMC Group in our journey of “reaching higher.” We will continue to face challenges boldly and persevere with determination, seeking breakthroughs in adversity and crafting new chapters amid challenges. Salary Reality Gap: 52% of Malaysian Employees See Scope for Salary Growth, foundit Survey Reveals

Key findings from the survey:

  • A majority of professionals (45%) expect a 0-10% growth in their next appraisal
  • 52% of respondents believe their salary is below average compared to industry peers
  • Only 32% of respondents are satisfied with their salary growth opportunities
  • 36% of employees reported no major change in their salary over the past three years
  • Skills in demand (31%) and economic trends (30%) are the primary drivers of current salary trends

Malaysian employees and employers appear to be on different pages when it comes to compensation, according to new research. A comprehensive salary survey by foundit, a leading jobs platform, reveals that while many professionals see room for salary growth, organisations are focusing on strategic compensation planning to retain talent in a competitive job market. The research highlights evolving compensation trends in Malaysia, with a growing awareness among professionals about market benchmarks. More than half of the surveyed employees recognise the need for salary adjustments to align with industry standards, while nearly half anticipate modest single-digit salary growth in their upcoming reviews.

These insights present valuable opportunities for organisations to enhance their talent strategies, ensuring competitive compensation structures that attract and retain top talent. With compensation playing a central role in both recruitment success and employee loyalty, these insights into workforce sentiment provide valuable intelligence for business planning.

V Suresh, CEO of foundit, commented on the findings: “This research offers fascinating insights into Malaysia’s compensation landscape, revealing both challenges and opportunities. The perception gap we’ve identified – where many employees believe their pay falls below industry standards – represents a critical area for employers to address.

Malaysian businesses have a compelling opportunity to strengthen their position in the talent market through enhanced salary transparency and more effective communication about compensation. By helping professionals understand how their pay compares to true market rates and developing transparent frameworks for advancement, organisations can better align expectations with reality. This strategic approach benefits not just individual employees but strengthens organisational resilience and competitiveness. For Malaysia to continue its trajectory as a business hub in Southeast Asia, addressing these compensation perception gaps will be instrumental in attracting and retaining the best talent.”

Key findings from the survey include:

  • More than half (52%) of employees believe they are underpaid compared to industry peers.
  • 38% feel their salary is above average, while 10% are unsure how their pay compares to market rates.
  • Executive-level professionals (15+ years of experience) have the highest salary awareness, with only 4.48% unaware of market benchmarks, compared to mid-career professionals who display greater uncertainty.

Satisfaction with Salary Growth

  • 30% of respondents are dissatisfied with their salary growth opportunities with majority in Engineering and Logistics sector.
  • 38% remain neutral, indicating mixed perceptions about compensation structures.
  • 32% express satisfaction, but satisfaction levels decline as professionals advance in their careers. IT (35.38%) leads in salary growth satisfaction.

Expected Salary Growth from Appraisal

  • 28.7% anticipate a 6-10% increment, while 16.7% foresee just 0-5% growth.
  • 19.5% of professionals aim for substantial increases exceeding 30%.
  • Professionals with 4-6 years of experience are the most optimistic, with nearly 39% expecting 6-10% raises, while senior executives anticipate more conservative increases (0-5%).

Salary Changes Over the Past Three Years

  • 36% of professionals saw no salary growth, indicating wage stagnation.
  • 30% experienced salary reductions (19% minor, 11% significant).
  • 34% received salary hikes (18% modest, 16% substantial), highlighting industry-specific trends.

Future Salary Expectations: Industry Outlook

  • Employees in the Engineering & Construction sector expect predictable salary growth (36.36% anticipate 6-10% raises).
  • BFSI professionals have the highest expectations, with more than 50% anticipating 30% above increments.
  • Entry-level professionals remain the most optimistic, with 79% expecting salary growth, while expectations decline at senior levels (67% among executives).

  • Economic Trends: 30.5% see macroeconomic factors shaping pay scales.
  • Sector-Specific Challenges: 18% cite industry constraints as key influencers.
  • Technological Advancements: 12% recognise tech-driven disruptions affecting wages.
