WASH debuts on MAI, targeting 160 new branches for 2026-2027

Laundry You PCL (SET: WASH), one of Thailand’s leading full-service laundromat operators under the “WashXpress” brand, debuted on the SET Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) as the Company is determined to grow on its current success by expanding its branch network at least 160 branches in fiscal years 2026-2027. This is a part of WASH’s strategic expansion plan to push into the Northern and Southern regions, increasing the number of company-owned and operated branches to 670. The Company highlights its business expansion strategy with a model that can create recurring income. In the meantime, the Company reported strong six-month revenue growth to 474 million baht with profit increasing by 93%, while its Same Store Sales Growth (SSSG) grew by 13%, driven by new services and effective marketing. WASH aims to become Thailand’s leading full-service laundromat operator, ready to revolutionize the industry with innovation and technology to create a pleasing experience, making laundry chores easier for the community.

Mr Kawin Klongkratoke, CEO and Co-Founder of Laundry You PCL, stated that the Company’s shares began trading on November 3, 2025, in the Services Industry Group under the symbol “WASH”, following the successful IPO of 105,882,352 shares at 7.50 baht per share. The offering attracted interest from all investor groups and received an overwhelming response, reflecting confidence in the Company’s strong business fundamentals and future growth potential. Throughout its business history, WASH has operated under its vision to revolutionize the laundry experience in communities by creating innovative and data-driven services powered by technology to deliver the ultimate experience for modern consumers under the concept of “Clean, Convenient, and Comfortable”. This approach perfectly addresses the changing lifestyle and the expanding urbanization of Thai society, while fostering sustainable growth for the future.

“On behalf of the entire WASH team, I would like to thank you for your trust in us. I am very honored to bring WashXpress into the Thai capital market. We are ready to move forward toward our full potential, generating the highest possible returns for all shareholders. The Company’s core mission is to transform laundry chores into a simple experience, giving back ‘time’ to community members and improving their quality of life. We do not aim merely to become a market leader; we aspire to be a ‘revolutionary force’ driven by innovation and technology. This means setting new standards for the Thai laundromat industry, entirely guided by the principle of creating sustainable value for businesses, society, and the environment. We promise that WASH will never stop development in our determination to create sustainable success for all stakeholders,” Mr Kawin added.

Mr Chisanupun Tangchalermkul, Chief Development Officer and Co-Founder of Laundry You PCL, disclosed that the Company plans exponential growth by expanding its branch network into high-potential areas through the “cluster expansion” strategy, which involves opening 5 to 10 new branches in close proximity to each other. This game plan was designed to rapidly build brand visibility in new areas, while also increasing management efficiency and reducing construction costs. The strategy will be implemented across 21 provinces where the Company currently operates, as well as in new, untapped markets—particularly in the northern and southern regions—to ensure comprehensive nationwide coverage.

Chisanupun further stated that the Company aims to open at least 240 new, company-owned and operated branches by the end of 2027, implemented into two phases. The first phase is the opening of 80 new branches in 2025, followed by at least 160 new branches between 2026 and 2027, with a focus on company-owned and operated branches. By 2027, the Company aims to operate a total of 670 such branches. This strategy will allow WASH to maintain full control over service quality and standards, enhance management flexibility, and, most importantly, generate recurring income – a key factor leading to sustainable growth.

In addition to expanding its network, the Company also prioritizes the upgrading of existing branches to maintain competitiveness and increase sales. A budget of 100 million baht has been allocated for 2026-2027 for the renovation and upgrading of existing WashXpress laundromats. The plan includes increasing the number of washing and drying machines in high-traffic branches, introducing new services such as wash, dry, fold, and ironing, and refurbishing stores to enhance WashXpress’s modern brand image. Improvements will also include expanding parking spaces and enhancing customer comfort through facilities such as air-conditioned waiting areas, ensuring the best possible experience and maximum convenience.

Ms Suthang Khonsilpa, Managing Director, Investment Banking Department of Yuanta Securities (Thailand) Co Ltd, in the capacity as financial advisor and underwriter, reiterated that WASH possessed five key strengths that highlight the Company’s potential as a growth stock worth keeping a close eye on. These are:

1. Strong and proven operating performance: The Company has demonstrated impressive revenue growth between 2022 and 2024, achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.16%, alongside an average net profit growth of 18.63% per annum. The operating results for the first six months of 2025 continue to show robust growth. Notably, same-store sales growth (SSSG) has remained positive, underscoring strength and resilience in the core business.

2. Clear growth strategy with focus on sustainable revenue: The Company focuses on expanding a network of company-owned and operated branches that ultimately account for more than 85% of the total number of branches. This approach allows full control over service quality and standards, generating stable recurring income. Moreover, the Company also presents a clear plan to utilize the funds from the IPO to open at least 160 new branches by 2027.

3. Strong market position and a well-recognised brand: Currently, WashXpress is one of the major players in the industry with over 548 branches in 21 provinces, conveniently meeting the needs of modern consumers, as evidenced by the number of registered users via the WashXpress application, which has continuously grown to more than 1.5 million accounts at present.

4. Leveraging technology for competitive advantage: The Company’s WashXpress application has not been designed only as a payment channel, but also as a valuable tool in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) through a loyalty point system. Most importantly, it is a large data warehouse of customer behavior (Data Analytics) effective for analysis and planning more accurate marketing strategies.

5. Operating in a High-Growth Industry: The self-service laundry business is directly driven by the megatrend of urbanization – changes in living patterns from composite family groups to single families or condominium living. Combined with increasingly hectic lifestyles, the changes have led to a steady increase in demand for self-service laundry services.

“WASH demonstrates compelling strengths across the board, from its proven growth history and strong financial position and cash flow to a clear strategic plan aligned with market trends. This IPO serves as a fuel for accelerated growth and further reinforces the Company’s market leadership. For investors who recognize the potential of the full-service laundry business, investing in WASH shares presents an opportunity to become a co-owner of a business managed by a professional team standing ready to steer the business forward with stability and sustainability,” concluded Miss Suthang.

Plant-Powered Pups: New Study Shows Dramatic Environmental Gains From Plant-Based Dog Food in the UK

A new life cycle assessment of 31 dry dog foods in the UK reveals that plant-based diets consistently outperform meat-based alternatives across every major environmental measure. Conducted by University of Nottingham veterinary researchers Rebecca Brociek and Professor David Gardner, and published in Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, the study underscores a major opportunity for pet owners and the pet food industry to shrink their ecological “pawprint.”

Key Results

  • Greenhouse gas emissions: Plant-based foods produced just 2.82 kg CO₂-eq per 1,000 kcal, compared to 31.47 kg for beef-based formulas – over ten times higher.
  • Land use: Plant-based diets required 2.73 m² per 1,000 kcal, versus 102.15 m² for beef-based products.
  • Water use: Plant-based options consumed 249 L of freshwater per 1,000 kcal, far less than beef (575 L) or lamb (684 L).
  • Nutrient and acidification pollution: Beef-based diets generated 14-16 times more acidifying and eutrophying emissions respectively, than plant-based equivalents.
  • Middle ground: Poultry-based and semi-synthetic veterinary formulas had lower impacts than red meat, but still much higher than plant-based foods.

Over a typical nine-year lifespan, feeding a 20 kg Labrador exclusively on plant-based dry food would require 8,964 m² of land and emit greenhouse gases equal to 2.8 London-New York return flights. The same dog fed on beef-based food would need 334,851 m² of land and emit the equivalent of 31.3 such flights.

Why It Matters
With pet ownership on the rise worldwide and demand for pet foods increasing, the environmental impact of animal-based ingredients can no longer be overlooked. The researchers conclude that increasing plant-based ingredients in pet diets provides a practical and scalable way to reduce land use, emissions, nutrient pollution, and water stress – without compromising caloric value.

They note, “feeding your dog plant-based will significantly improve a households’ environmentally sustainability”, and that, “… lower-impact pet food ingredients will be essential in reducing the [pet food] sector’s ecological paw print.”

While some suggest that using meat by-products like ‘meat meals’ is more sustainable, the study found these often ranked among the highest-impact ingredients, failing to bridge the gap.

Broader Context
This work supports earlier research. In 2023, veterinary professor Andrew Knight demonstrated that switching pet dogs worldwide to nutritionally sound vegan diets could save greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 1.5 times the UK’s annual output, while providing enough food energy to feed 450 million people, equivalent to the EU population. By late 2025, at least 11 peer-reviewed studies had also shown positive health outcomes for dogs fed plant-based diets.

As Prof. Knight explained, “Higher proportions of plant-based ingredients, or nutritionally complete plant-based diets, can substantially reduce the ecological footprints of companion animals. As awareness grows, such diets may shift from niche to mainstream – aligning our care for pets with responsibility for the planet.”

Pet-Food Revolution: Two New Global Surveys Reveal Growing Guardian Openness to Sustainable Diets for Dogs and Cats

Two pioneering studies published in the journal Animals have explored in depth how dog and cat guardians perceive more sustainable pet food options. Led by Jenny L. Mace, Alexander Bauer, Andrew Knight and Billy Nicholles, the research sheds new light on the potential for alternative proteins and plant-based diets in the companion animal sector.

Study 1 – Dogs: ‘Consumer Acceptance of Sustainable Dog Diets: A Survey of 2,639 Dog Guardians’
In the first study, the team surveyed 2,639 dog guardians worldwide. Around 84% of respondents were currently feeding their dogs either conventional or raw meat-based diets. However, a substantial 43% of this group reported they would nevertheless consider at least one type of more sustainable dog food (such as vegan, vegetarian or cultivated-meat formulations).

Among the alternative options, the most acceptable was cultivated meat-based dog food (chosen by 24% of these respondents), compared to vegetarian (17%) and vegan (13%) dog diets. And when asked what characteristics would be needed for these alternatives to be chosen, the top choices were nutritional soundness (chosen by 85%) followed by good pet health (83%).

Study 2 – Cats: ‘Consumer Acceptance of Sustainable Cat Diets: A Survey of 1,380 Cat Guardians’
The companion study gathered responses from 1,380 cat guardians. In total 89% of these guardians fed their cats conventional or raw meat-based diets. However, just over half – 51% – of this group considered at least one of the more sustainable options to be acceptable.

The most popular alternatives were those based on cultivated meat (chosen by 33% of this group) followed by vegan diets (18%). Similarly to dogs, the most important characteristics alternative diets would need to offer be chosen were good pet health outcomes (chosen by 83%) and nutritional soundness (80%).

Differences among consumers
Both studies found that guardians who themselves reduce or avoid meat were significantly more open to alternative diets for their pets, as were those with higher educational qualifications. Age and regional differences were also apparent, with older consumers, and those from the UK, often less open to alternatives than those in other European nations, North America or Oceania, although differences were often not significant.

What This Means
These twin studies come at a time when the environmental and ethical footprint of conventional pet food production is growing in public consciousness. As noted by study co-author and veterinary professor Andrew Knight: “Recent studies have demonstrated that our dogs and cats collectively consume a substantial proportion of all farmed animals. Pet diets such as those based on plant-based ingredients or cultivated meat could transform the pet food system, lowering adverse impacts for farmed animals and the environment.”

With rapidly increasing populations already numbering hundreds of millions of dogs and cats globally, the shift of even a modest percentage of these pets to lower-impact diets could bring significant benefits.

As co-author Billy Nicholles summarised: “These findings are of value to the rapidly growing pet food alternatives industry, enabling pet food companies to accelerate their growth and acquire new customers through evidence-based, targeted outreach.”

Implications for Industry and Veterinary Practice
For pet food companies, the message is clear: launching sustainable diet lines is not merely a matter of production innovation, but also of trust-building. Clear information about nutritional soundness and health outcomes feature heavily in guardian willingness to adopt new products.

For veterinary practitioners and animal welfare organisations, these findings underscore the importance of informed communication. If guardians are open to alternatives but uncertain about their pet’s health outcomes, then evidence-based guidance becomes a key enabling factor.

Experts and property seekers distinguish the finest real estate at the 12th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty

The 12th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty, presented by Lim Soh & Goonting Advocates & Solicitors, today unveiled the nation’s finest real estate companies and developments during a black-tie gala held at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur.

Welcome speech by Mr. Jules Kay, General Manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events

Celebrating success across the full spectrum of the property sector, this year’s programme combined the insights of an independent judging panel, comprehensive market data, and public opinion. A total of 73 categories honoured outstanding achievements in Malaysian real estate: from luxury residences to affordable housing, as well as innovative commercial developments nationwide.

JLand Group receives Best Developer (Malaysia)

JLand Group emerged as the year’s most decorated winner, gaining the prestigious Best Developer title for the first time, alongside Best Developer (Southern Malaysia) and Best Industrial Developer. Its flagship township Bandar Dato’ Onn garnered three awards, including Best Township Development (Malaysia), while the company also won for the industrial project Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC) – STEPEAST.

Named Best Developer (Central Malaysia), CPI Land triumphed alongside its project Tuan Heritag3 Residency. Interhill Group was awarded Best Developer (East Malaysia) while its subsidiary Interhill Hospitality won Best Hospitality Developer. Interhill Property won for the high-rise Urban Residences.

Berinda Group was awarded Best Sustainable Developer, alongside wins for the projects Ponderosa Vista and City Square Office Tower. Recognised as Best Breakthrough Developer, Faire Development also received awards for the project known as baé.

Mah Sing Group Berhad received the Best Lifestyle Developer title, supported by an award for the project M Terra. MTD Properties was honoured as Best Affordable Homes Developer while TSLAW Land was awarded Best Boutique Developer.

Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) received the Sustainable Design Champion and Low Carbon Champion titles

Garnering a total of seven awards this year, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) received the Sustainable Design Champion and Low Carbon Champion titles for imbuing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards into its core strategies. PKNS also collected trophies for Aludra Residensi, Linkar 52, and Galeria SA Sentral.

Other developers with winning projects include Armani Group; Astaka Padu Sdn Bhd; Axteria Group Berhad; BCB Development Sdn Bhd.; City Motors Group; Coronade Properties Sdn Bhd; Country View Berhad; Exal

(Malaysia) Sdn Bhd; Gunung Impian Development Sdn Bhd; IIB Land Sdn. Bhd.; Malton Berhad; Platinum Victory; Prinsip Alpha Sdn Bhd; Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd; R&F Development Sdn Bhd; Sime Darby Property; Superior Property Development Sdn Bhd; Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad; Tropicana Corporation Berhad; TRX City Sdn Bhd; and Worldwide Holdings Berhad.

A milestone at this year’s gala was the presentation of the Consumer Demand Awards, a new set of honours based not on jury deliberation but on preferences of Malaysians actively searching for property on the country’s leading marketplaces: PropertyGuru.com.my and iProperty.com.my. These data-driven awards celebrated the developments most in demand among property seekers nationwide and overseas.

The inaugural Consumer Demand Award winners are City Square Office Tower by Berinda Group; Leisure Farm by Mulpha International; Mutiara Central Cheras by Mutiara Johan Group; R&F Princess Cove by R&F Development Sdn Bhd; and The Exchange 106 by Mulia Property Development Sdn Bhd.

In another consumer-driven segment, the People’s Choice Awards returned this year, recognising 10 developers in Malaysia as the most trusted and preferred by residents. The winners are Berinda Group; CPI Land; Gunung Impian Development Sdn Bhd; Mah Sing Group Berhad; Malton Berhad; Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS); Platinum Victory; Tiland Group; Tropicana Corporation Berhad; and TRX City Sdn Bhd. The winners were voted for by the public from a shortlist of 30 leading developers.

Datuk Sr Mohd Salem Kailany, group chief executive officer of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, accepted the Real Estate Personality of the Year title from the editorial team of Property Report by PropertyGuru for leading one of Malaysia’s largest REIT and overseeing landmark assets such as the Petronas Twin Towers. Dato’ Sri Jerry Kwan Aik Khai, founder and managing director of JRK Holdings Berhad, received this year’s Rising Star award from PropertyGuru.com.my and iProperty.com.my for inspiring Malaysia’s next generation of developers: transforming his construction firm into a renowned developer specialising in high-rise structures and more.

Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, said: “Our awards in Malaysia have diversified over the years to not only celebrate real estate excellence, but also capture the pulse of the market. These accolades reflect developers’ willingness to innovate and harness the power of data to give consumers a say in the selection process, with the support of Malaysia’s two leading property marketplaces. The awards match the real needs of property seekers, with winners exemplifying a broad spectrum of value, from the highest tiers of luxury to the most affordable spaces. The awardees also offer a snapshot of Malaysia’s diverse real estate segments, which continue to serve those who visit, work, or seek a place to call home. Malaysia’s award-winning developers offer lifestyle and investment propositions that even extend beyond its borders, adding an international element to the winners’ lineup.”

Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, chairperson of the independent panel of judges, said: “As our selection process expands beyond the perspectives of fellow judges to include the voices of consumers and property seekers with genuine market aspirations, the accomplishments of this year’s winners stand out as truly well-rounded. We remain impressed not only by the advancements in development and design but also by the dedication of developers to exceed sustainability expectations, addressing market demands while being mindful of environmental responsibilities. It is also encouraging to see projects seamlessly integrated into their wider communities, from transit-oriented developments to townships and spaces that support remote work and mixed-use living. With these outstanding achievers, we are confident that the future of Malaysian real estate is in excellent hands.”

The independent panel of judges consists of Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, president, Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) 2020-2022; Ir. Ashwin Thurairajah, executive director, GreenRe Sdn Bhd; Janice Chin, director, Capital Markets, JLL Appraisal and Property Services Sdn. Bhd.; Ir. Marking its 20th edition in 2025, the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series culminates in the Grand Final in Bangkok on 12 December 2025. From Malaysia, 23 winners will advance to compete for the Best in Asia titles against entries from 14 other markets on this international platform.
