HONG KONG, Aug 26, 2020 – (ACN Newswire) – Tianyun International Holdings Limited (“Tianyun International”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”, Stock code: 6836.HK), a leading seller and manufacturer of processed fruits products in China announced its results for the six months ended 30 June 2020 (“Review Period”).

During the first half of 2020, the new coronavirus pandemic had an impact on the global economy, coupled with the intensification of Sino-US trade antagonism, the global business environment was challenging and international trades reduced. Logistical support and retail industries faced with daunting challenges due to the lockdown measures implemented by countries and regions. As a consumer goods company, the fundamentals of the Group remain stable amid the uncertainty business environment brought by the pandemic. With gradual relaxation of the pandemic in China, the Group’s production and business operations have gradually returned to normal in the second quarter. We continue to sell processed fruit products under own brand and OEM, and trade fresh fruit. During the Review Period, the group’s revenue, gross profit and net income recorded RMB306.0 million, RMB85.5 million and RMB47.7 million respectively.

Proactively develop sales channels, strive to increase market share on its own brand products, and drive sales growth
During the Review Period, the Group proactively explored potential sales networks, increased brand awareness through multi-channel marketing activities, participated in live direct sales activities through some popular online broadcast platforms, and organised promotional activities on e-commerce platforms, in order to enhance brand awareness and drive sales growth. The revenue of processed fruit products sold under its own brand accounted for 53% of the total revenue, making it the largest business segment of the group’s revenue.

During the Review Period, the Group’s subsidiary Shandong Tiantong Food Co.,Ltd. (the “Tiantong Food”) was highly recognized on its distinguished brands and was elected on the “2020 Most Valuable Chinese Brands List” for four consecutive years and given a brand value of over RMB 1.5Billion, reflecting the steady increase in the market share of the Group’s own brand products. As at June 30, 2020, sales of the Group’s own brand products cover 27 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, including RT-Mart, Aeon, Jingkelong supermarket chains, and other well-known chain stores and supermarkets.

Launch new products and expand product portfolio actively
Adhering to the belief on innovation, the Group introduces new ideas and launch new products to meet the consumer’s demands on new trials and diversified fruit products. During the Review Period, the Group launched new types of processed fruit products such as cherry tomatoes, grapes and mangoes, with new packaging. These products meet the preferences of the younger generation and are welcomed by customers in general. The Group’s own brand “Tiantong Times” also launched other canned products such as canned fish, bringing fresh experience to our existing customers. In addition, based on the needs of customers, the Group launched large-pack cans such as 5-liter aluminium foil bags and 9-liter square drum packaging. The technology and quality of these large-pack products have won unanimous acclaim from our customers. The Group also continued to improve its proprietary research and development capabilities, and enhanced its innovation and food processing technology. It has successfully developed a series of sports drinks with vitamin and fruit juice under its own brand. The preparation work of the drink has entered into the final stage and is expected to be launched by the fourth quarter of 2020.

Stable development on OEM business and expansion to other regions continuously
The Group’s OEM business continues to be a stable source of income for the Group. The Group has worked closely with internationally renowned food brands covering five continents. The Group’s products are exported to many different countries, which effectively diversifying the risk of over-concentration of customers. The Group’s business includes selecting and reselling a small portion of fresh fruit to domestic fresh fruit wholesalers. A report from the world’s leading data analysis consultant estimated that the market size of China’s fresh food e-commerce industry would reach RMB 263.8 billion in 2020. China’s fresh food e-commerce platform would become an emerging growth market with increasing penetration of e-commerce, change of user habits, and surge in demand during the pandemic. During the Review Period, the Group continued to improve its production facilities, and increase production automation and efficiency. The land acquisition for the Group’s No. 5 and No. 6 new workshops in Shandong has been completed. Construction works started and are expected to be completed in the first half of 2021. New production capacity from the new workshops is anticipated to be released in the second half of 2021. Products in new forms of packaging are expected to be available in the new workshops, which would increase the types and specifications of our products and effectively increase the number of new orders. Our production base in Yichang City in China continued to transform its facilities and enhance its capacity during the Review Period, resulting in increasing the production capacity on the Group’s new products and existing processed fruit products. The Group’s annual revenue exceeded RMB 1 billion in 2019. Revenue, gross profit and net profit all recorded double-digit growth. The gross profit of all three segments namely OEM, own brand business and fresh fruit business rose simultaneously. To share the achievements we made with shareholders, the Board recommends a final dividend of HK$ 3.0 cents per share, implying a full year total dividends of HKD 4.8 cents in 2019, with a year-on-year increase of 9.1%.

According to a recent analysis report on China’s processed fruits and vegetables market industry published by Euromonitor International, a global institution on the field of market data and research, the industry market size of 2019 has grown by 8% year-on-year to RMB12 billion while Tianyun International is a leading enterprise in the industry. The Group has continued to improve production facilities during the Year Under Review, in order to raise our level of automation and production efficiency. Currently, the Group has completed the land acquisition for the No. 5 and No. 6 production workshops in Shandong, and preparation work is under way and various construction projects are expected to commence as soon as possible and complete in the first half of 2021. a new form of Tetra Pak packaging that is more environmentally friendly, convenient and oriented towards the PRC market will be launched along with the new project in Shandong with regard to No. 5 and No.6 production workshops. The new packaging is expected to lead to significant increase in product types and specifications, and raise volume of production orders.

Yichang Tiantong has continued to transform its facilities and enhance its capacity, effectively increasing the Group’s production capacity for new products and existing processed fruit products, while also facilitating the Group’s arrangements with warehousing and transportation of its own brand products in Central China as well as developing subtropical fruit products. During the Year Under Review, Yichang Tiantong carried out production smoothly and has successfully increased production capacity and fulfilled its production goals in 2019 during its production peak season in the second half of 2019.

The Group always upgrades and improves its production technology and products to achieve healthy and long-term development. During the Year Under Review, the Group was accredited as the 8th batch of the municipal level “One Technique for One Enterprise” R&D centre by the municipal government of Linyi City of Shandong Province. This is a significant recognition on the Group’s capability on its independent innovation. Furthermore, the Group has gradually achieved its operating goal of deseasonalisation. During the Year Under Review, the Group successfully utilised new modern cold storage technology to extend fruit storage period and stretching a longer seasonal cycle for fruit processing. Besides the signing of a memorandum of partnership with Sichuan Development Holding Ltd (“SDH”) at the beginning of 2019 to leverage both parties’ strengths and deepen cooperation in the agriculture field, the Group established a joint venture company in Sichuan Province of PRC with Sichuan Yizhan Enterprise Co., Ltd., (“Sichuan Yizhan”), a subsidiary of Sichuan Development International Holding Company Ltd (“SDIH”), to jointly develop a supply chain for processed agricultural and food products as well as a base for supply of raw materials that comply with international standards. Tianyun Accelerates to the Resumption of Full Production Capacity

Tianyun International Prevents spread of Coronavirus, Ensures Staff Safety and Contributes to Fight Against the Epidemic

Tianyun International Holdings Limited (“Tianyun International”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) (Stock code: 6836.HK), a leading seller and manufacturer of processed fruits products in China announced that in view of the latest development of the coronavirus outbreak, the Group has already done all the epidemic prevention and control, and safety measures for its factories in the PRC. The Group has also made donations and contributed to the fight against the epidemic.

As one of the leading food sellers and manufacturers in the PRC, safety has always been the top priority of the Group. The Group has paid high attention since the epidemic was evolved in the PRC in the early stage. The Group monitored closely the trend of the epidemic and swiftly set up an emergency leadership team to prevent and control the epidemic. The Group immediately issued notices to all staff, formulated emergency plans with details, coordinated among all levels of staff and assigned duties and responsibilities, and strictly implemented all the preventive and controlling measures. The Group has deployed detailed plans and arrangements, including production arrangement, salary payment, staff returning from home, factory security after festival, and job resumption after holiday.

After such an unfortunate event, the Group donated a total amount of materials of RMB300,000 to contribute to the fight against the epidemic. Meanwhile, the management of the Group focused on extending their regards and care to the people near one of our production sites in the Yichang city in the PRC and expressing sympathy to the all our staff located in the local area so that more positive messages regarding the epidemic control and prevention can be conveyed and staff morale can be strengthened.
