Infiniti Indah Celebrates Pesta Kuantan 188, 29-31 July Family Fun and Concert with A-List Artists

Expected to draw more than 20,000 local, domestic and international visitors

Bhd. and the hospitality arm of MAA Group Berhad, returns with the exciting annual three-day Pesta Kuantan 188 festival from 29 to 31 July 2023. The Pesta Kuantan 188 is endorsed by the Pahang State Government, Tourism Pahang and Ministry of Youth and Sports.

As the prominent destination of travellers to the Malaysian East-Coast, Kuantan 188, is the obvious choice for area promotion of the unique culture and geography. The 2023 Pesta Kuantan 188 will feature family-fun activities such as Royal Pahang Dragon Boat Race, a talent show Kuantan 188 Challenge: Ada Bran?, cultural performances by Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan, Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negeri and Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri, fashion shows, Zumba, retail booths with handcrafted items and food from local vendors, Fun Run and Fun Ride featuring a 5km run alongside a cycle track of 35km, and many more.

To ensure children are entertained, Kids Club activities including mini petting zoo, kids zipline, karaoke competition, bouncy castle and health screening for parents are available on 30 July 2023.

The dragon boat races are a first for Kuantan 188, aptly named, “Royal Pahang Dragon Boat Regatta 2023”. On 30 and 31 of July, teams consisting of 12 crews in the Pahang Open division and 12 crews for the Pahang Closed (open and mixed) division compete to win a cup, medal, and cash prizes. The race will commence in front of the Jetty for the Marine Department of Kuantan and finish in front of Kuantan 188. A total of 34 teams have confirmed their participation. Royal Pahang Dragon Boat Race is fully supported by the committee of Penang International Dragon Boat Festival (PIDBF).

The festival also includes a free-entry concert with A-list artists featuring Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Cakra Khan, Ameng Spring, Aizat Amdan, Aishah Retno, Santesh, and Malaysian actor and comedian Harith Iskander with technology display of projection mapping on the shaft of the Tower on 31 July 2023 which starts at 9:00 P.M.

Coinciding with the birthdays of KDYMM Yang Di Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, which is on 30 July 2023 and 5 August 2023 respectively, Kuantan 188 will also host a special one-night-only closed-door dinner at the tower.

Kuantan 188, Malaysia’s second-tallest tower, will host two major events, the Kuantan 188 International Extreme Challenge (KIEC), their first-ever challenge event since reopening early this year, and Pesta Kuantan 188.

The KIEC will see a group of people base jumping from the tower in celebration of Merdeka while Pesta Kuantan will be held from 27 August 2022 to 4 September 2022.

The launch will be officiated by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker and Chairman of the Pahang State Human Resources, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Committee YB Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Johari bin Haji Hussain.

To promote adventure and outdoor sports, the Ministry of Youth and Sports will continue to support events such as KIEC and work closely with Kuantan 188 to encourage local youth groups to use the Kuantan 188 as their venue of choice.

The main focus of the KIEC will be a group of volunteer base jumpers who will jump down 104 metres from the skydeck. There will be a total of 65 jumps from multiple jumpers on 30 August 2022 carrying the Kuantan 188, Pahang and Malaysian flags commemorating 65 years of independence. Among the base jumpers is the country’s oldest, 67-year-old Encik Jamaluddin Ismail, from Mentakab, Pahang.

Besides Malaysian base jumpers, there will also be participants from United States, Singapore and Indonesia. Other sports will also be held at the same venue, including paintball, drop zone, kickboxing, outdoor zumba and hammock zone while children can enjoy activities at Kuantan 188’s Kids Club and Zipline. The festival will also be hosting local brands with a nine-day pop up retail booth to bring awareness to local talent and support local merchandise.

Hospitality 360 Launches Kuantan 188, Malaysia’s Second Tallest Tower; Targeting 350,000 Visitors This Year

Hospitality 360, the hospitality arm of MAA Group Berhad, is pleased to announce the unveiling of Kuantan 188, a 188-metre tower that graces the heart of Kuantan, Pahang as well as Malaysia’s second-tallest tower, on 20 February 2022.

Locals and tourists alike can now buy tickets online at Kuantan 188’s official website, travel Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) technology platform Go Tifi and on site to visit this iconic tower with the only 360-degree view of Kuantan. They can enjoy a panoramic view of Kuantan City and the Kuantan River, while adrenaline junkies are sure to enjoy extreme activities such as the ‘Sky Walk’, ‘Drop Zone’ and ‘Anthena Climb’ similar to those found at Macau Tower and Taipei 101.

The launch saw Kuantan 188 unveil its new logo and receive certification as an official member of the World Federation of Great Towers. It was a momentous and auspicious occasion with the attendance of YB Datuk Seri Dr Santhara J.P., Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia; Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar, Chairman of the Pahang State Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation and Commodities Committee; and Dato’ Indera Omar Naresh Mohan (“Dato’ Indera Omar”), the President and Group CEO of Hospitality 360.

“Malaysians and the people of Pahang are lucky to have the second tallest tower in our country with stunning views. I believe that today’s launch will give a new breath and an injection of exciting spirit to the management of Kuantan 188 to further develop this tower to the eyes of the world, especially in attracting more domestic and foreign tourists to visit Kuantan 188 and Pahang,” said YB Datuk Seri Dr Santhara.

“This launch coincides with the takeover of tower operations on 1 January 2022. We aim to make Kuantan 188 a modern tourism destination hub in Pahang and the East Coast by launching a series of activities here in the coming months,” Dato’ Indera Omar mentioned.

Kuantan 188 is a strategic landmark developed by the Federal Government through the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) in collaboration with the Pahang state. Kuantan 188 is part of a series of developments to improve the Kuantan Waterfront, a key asset and cultural heritage that will enhance the city’s tourist attractions in the area.

Guests may visit the tower from 10.00am to 10.00pm on weekdays or 10.00am to 12.00am on weekends with tickets beginning from RM15 for adults and RM10 for children to visit the observation deck; RM28 for adults and RM18 for children to visit the Skydeck; and RM38 for adults and RM18 for children to visit both the observation deck and Skydeck.
