Generation 6 Technology Set for Southern Utah

American Wave Machines, the global leader in world-class surf pool destinations, announces a new project, PerfectSwell® Zion, a mixed-use development in Washington, Utah, the outdoor activity hub adjacent to Zion National Park. AWM is partnering with Desert Lakes LLC on the project. The commercial surf park anchors a luxury residential community called Zion Shores offering waterfront single family homes and beachfront townhouses. PerfectSwell® Zion will be open to the public with Zion Shores residents enjoying unique perks and surf priority. PerfectSwell® Zion opens in Q1 2027.

Capping four years of in-house R&D, the project will feature Generation 6 PerfectSwell® surf technology bringing bigger, better waves, improved efficiency, cutting-edge sustainability features, and AWM’s most innovative wave package yet. Gen 6 features optimization diagnostics utilizing historic and real time data, innovative health monitoring, maintenance schedules, and a thermal design system for air and water temperature management. Further improvements in pneumatics have resulted in measurable increases in wave generating efficiency. In terms of design, natural and permanent elements will be utilized for energy dissipation in the water minimizing the use of fabricated materials. For the surf and aquatics recreation, the project will upcycle brackish water – unfit for drinking or farming – conserving fresh water and reducing waste.

New McFly Wave and Latest Innovations on Display

American Wave Machines, the global leader in world-class surf pool destinations, has begun commissioning PerfectSwell® in the heart of Brazil’s vibrant financial center São Paulo. AWM has partnered with JHSF, Brazil’s leading high-end real estate development company, on their second PerfectSwell® location, the São Paulo Surf Club. With the iconic Ponte Estaiada bridge as a backdrop, top Brazilian Pros Italo Ferreira and Miguel Pupo, along with AWM’s Rob Kelly, put the latest PerfectSwell® innovations through the paces. PerfectSwell(R) Heading to China’s Surfing Capital

American Wave Machines, the surf technology company behind PerfectSwell® Surf Venues worldwide, today announced an agreement to develop a PerfectSwell® Surf Resort with China Tourism Group. The project, located on the island of Hainan in Riyue Bay, also known as Sun and Moon Bay in the town of Wanning, will be called Riyue Bay Surf Resort.

Known for having the best surf in China, Riyue Bay has attracted a wide range of businesses including a vibrant restaurant and bar scene open to international tourists. With conditions and climate that support year-round surfing, Riyue Bay has held international competitions for eleven consecutive years. Standing out as a beacon of success for the Chinese surf scene, Riyue Bay is also home to China’s National Surfing Team.

The PerfectSwell® anchored multi-use development will be the very first surf resort in China. In phase one, the resort will deliver a surf-themed hotel and a designer hotel totaling 132 rooms, a shopping district, bar and restaurants, surf retail shop, and skate park in addition to the PerfectSwell® Surf Pool. Phase two will add more rooms to the hotel and additional lodging options. The project will utilize the flexibility of PerfectSwell® Surf Technology by targeting the existing market of enthusiast surfers from abroad while also catering to beginners among the local population.

AWM Secures More Victories in USPTO Rulings

American Wave Machines, Inc. (AWM) announced that AWM patents challenged by WhiteWater West Industries, Ltd. (WW), a waterpark attraction supplier and promoter of Endless Surf, have been reviewed and validated by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Prior to this ruling, in a victory for AWM, the USPTO had declined a request made by WW to challenge additional patents. In summary, to date, three of the four patents challenged by WW have been confirmed in their entirety, and one patent retains a majority of patentable claims. These latest decisions further strengthen AWM’s sole ownership in sequence-based pneumatic surf technology, trademarked as PerfectSwell®. The patents have related foreign counterparts in Canada, Germany, France, Spain, and the UK.

AWM owns an extensive and growing patent portfolio protecting PerfectSwell® Technology as seen here in Brazil where PerfectSwell® is the anchor in a multi-use real estate development partnering with JHSF. JHSF, owners of the luxury brand Fasano(TM), brought the same classic elegance to a pool party like no other at the Grand Opening of Boa Vista Village in Brazil. The residential development, anchored by a six-acre PerfectSwell(R) Surf Pool, debuted the waves and the facilities to a crowd of guests, residents, and celebrities. The venue, situated in the countryside sixty minutes from Sao Paulo, features beach front condominiums, an international spa, retail store, clubhouse, and a beach resort all surrounding a PerfectSwell(R) Surf Pool.

On the same day as the party, the WSL World Championship Tour event in Rio De Janeiro recessed waiting for the ocean to deliver waves. Seizing on the fortunate timing, JHSF flew Olympic gold medalists Italo Ferreira, Carissa Moore, and other pros on a private plane to showcase their talent on the waves in front of a stoked crowd. After the session Carissa said, “It was insane, so much fun, honestly exceeded expectations. I have not stopped smiling, and I probably won’t until tomorrow.” Italo Ferreira appreciates the training potential, “For those who surf in high performance this is very positive, we can test several different equipment and boards in a short period of time.”

After successfully testing and showcasing the new PerfectSwell(R) surf pool at Boa Vista Village, which is now being claimed by the surf industry as “the best wave pool in the world”, AWM announces that they are once again partnering with JHSF to deliver world class surf to their newest project, Sao Paulo Surf Club. Like Boa Vista Village, SPSC will offer the same PerfectSwell high performance waves.
